Journal of Olympic History, Special Edition
In this special issue, ISOH members look back on the history of art competitions at the Olympics, from the preliminaries in 1906, to the elimination of the events and the establishment of the cultural programmes of the Olympic Games.
An article is dedicated to each of the Olympics with art competitions, and a brief one-page biography of each of the gold medal winners is provided, including images of their winning works.
The issues contains contributions from Philip Barker, Tony Bijkerk, Jean-Yves Guillain, Bernhard Kramer, Karl Lennartz, Norbert Müller, Richard Stanton, Stephan Wassong, Wojciech Zablocki and Thomas Zawadzki.
